Why the Carriers Won't Pay (And How We Help)
Each shipper has a "bible" of requirements. If your box doesn't meet these, you are shipping at your own risk:
The 2-Inch Rule: Most carriers, including UPS and FedEx, require at least two inches of cushioning on all six sides of an item. If your item is touching the side of the box, your claim is likely void.
The "Burst Strength" Requirement: Shippers look for the Box Manufacturer’s Certificate (BMC) on the bottom of the box. If you reuse an old Amazon box that has lost its structural integrity, it may not meet the "bursting test" or "edge crush test" required for a payout.
Double-Boxing for Fragiles: For high-value glass or electronics, carriers often require double-boxing with specific amounts of padding between the inner and outer containers. We specialize in the "box-in-box" method to meet these professional standards.
